    Building Better Marriages is an ongoing, drop-in workshop now offered at TWO Jackson County locations and one Lenawee County location. An MMJ facilitator explores a new topic each week in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.

    Spend an evening dining, dancing and romancing at MMJ's annual K.I.S.S. event, Friday, Feb. 12th at Gene Davis & Sons Banquet and Convention Center. MMJ does all the work- we help you Keep It Sweet & Simple (K.I.S.S.)- so that you can focus on each other and have a fabulous night out together.

    MMJ's Shelby Raines will host the evening, which includes dinner for two, entertainment, and lots of fun activities throughout the evening. A cash bar will be available for beer and wine. A DJ will spin the tunes until you and your mate decide to go make out like teenagers in your car... or until 10:00 p.m- whichever comes first.

    Dinner: Chicken Italian (marinated chicken topped with marinara, mozzarella cheese & Italian seasoning), roasted garlic & parmesan potato wedges, grilled Italian sausage, penne & chicken with choice of alfredo or marinara sauce, green beans, ceasar salad, & garlic bread.

    Beverages: soft drinks, lemonade, water, coffee and tea are included.  Cash bar available.

    4 Great Dates Before You Say "I Do"
    An MMJ Dating Workshop

    Thursday evenings, 7-9 p.m.

    Each week Shelby will reveal the date location for the following week.

    $75 per couple (includes all 4 workshop sessions, beverages, and dessert each week for two.)

    Let's go out! Spend four consecutive Thursday nights on a date with each other, learning and having fun. Sessions will be held at different locations throughout Jackson and a tasty dessert will be served each week. MMJ will start you off with a treat and a topic, then guide you through ways to explore subjects like communication, conflict resolution, expectations, and more.

    Like everything we do, the tone of this workshop is positive and upbeat and the environment is relaxing and fun. Our goal is to give you some of your best times as a couple! Get ready to laugh, eat, and find out (even more) about each other. Don't worry, you don't have to share with others, you just have to be willing to go on 4 dates, how great is that?

    Shelby Raines is Executive Director of Marriage Matters Jackson and an accomplished presenter and facilitator. Communicating the importance of healthy relationships is Shelby's passion. She mixes learning and laughter to help couples connect. A graduate of Spring Arbor University, Shelby and her husband, Drew, have been married 17 years and have three children.

    • Caring for Aging parents
    • Health & Body issues
    • Teenagers or adult children living at home
    • New family dynamics (grandchildren, married children)
    • Career Changes
    • Sexual issues
    • Retirement decisions
    If you do it the healthy and fun way, the second half of your marriage can be a time of learning about each other, sharing dreams and working toward a more satisfying relationship. Based on the award winning book, The Second Half of Marriage, this workshop gives practical strategies for navigating this special stage of your relationship.
